Sculptured Furniture by David Delthony

"As a furniture artist I sculpt with wood,
investigating interior space and defining
exterior boundaries." - by David Delthony

I just want to show you some of his works and I hope you'll like it. For me, his creations are something that everyone would admire. The curves, the flows and the shapes of furniture are made so artistic.

Its a Piano!...No! Its a Table

A table with a sense of real greatness. The Concerto Table is a very functional table that appears to be an adaptation of the visual sensibility of an old baby grand piano. The table is really designed to be a musical centerpiece, providing an Apple AV Connection Kit with remote control which is compatible with all iPods. Just download your favorite music to your iPod then plug it in.

This innovative piece from Lovegrove & Repucci is made to be multifunctional that it can also be set as a dinner table or a home office table as well. Simply place your laptop and papers in the center tray and close the lid, instantly you have a working table at your home.

Amazing House: Orchid House

A breath taking house that offers flexible living spaces, with the main living spaces floating over the water, that’s the Orchid House. I’m amazed how the house was designed and incorporated with its surrounding. The house blends with its landscape and environment taking its inspiration from the Bee orchid that is found on the site. The organic form is created from laminated veneer lumbar (LVL) ribs and clad with timber shingles (tiles). The camouflage pattern is burnt in to the timber.

The house is part of the Lower Mill Estate in the Cotsworlds Gloucestershire. It is a privately owned, former gravel quarry of 222 hectares with seven lakes and three rivers. The development will include a spa, village hall, library and shops. The aim is to create a balance between nature conservation and built environment.

The Orchid House is designed by well-known architect, Sarah Featherstone. She is also the director of Featherstone Associates.

Cheap Eyeglasses

We use our eyes to see the beauty of the world. Eyes are very important to be taken care of. But as people age, the eye's crystalline lens loses elasticity, resulting in presbyopia, which limits their ability to change focus. Eyeglasses have these corrective lenses that modify the focal length of the eye to alleviate the effects of nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia) or astigmatism. Most of the eyeglasses are expensive but eyeglasses at Zenni Optical has revolutionized the eyeglasses industry with its unheard of cost effective pricing model.

Zenni Optical offers a variety of eyeglasses not only for correcting vision but also for protection and safety of the eyes. These are affordable yet high quality and have very stylish prescription glasses. You can buy glasses online for as low as $8 (that's really cheap). You can choose in the huge selection of frames, sun sensor lens, tinted sunglasses lens, bifocal lens and progressive lens. They also offer great upgrades for your lenses.

Eyeglass Orders including the $8 eyeglasses have high quality stylish frame, thin and light 1.57 index lens, anti scratch coating, full UV protection, lens edge polishing and beveling, quality hard eyeglass case, microfiber lens cleaning cloth, and a full guarantee. Their handling charge is only a flat $4.95 per order, no matter how many glasses you order to them. Don't you agree with me that they have great offer deals?

I think I'll buy one for my Mom and one for my Dad as a Christmas Gift. My Mom still uses her old-fashioned glasses while my Dad needs one now because he's getting older and vision becomes poor. I recommend you to read the article from the Chicago Tribune if you still have doubt on buying these stylish and high quality eyeglasses.

Bloggers Unite for Refugees

I have seen a lot of article about this “Bloggers Unite for Refugees” and I’m so glad that many bloggers have the heart to give a little of their time to write. Today, I’m offering a little space of my blog to give voice for more than 40 million voiceless refugees around the world.

Bloggers UniteBloggers UniteBloggers Unite

What do we mean when we say refugees? According to the 1951 Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees, a refugee is a person who owing to a well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion, is outside the country of their nationality, and is unable to or, owing to such fear, is unwilling to avail him/herself of the protection of that country.

This ongoing problem of people torn from their homes is something that should, and must, concern us all, in order to find a common solution and bring back life and dignity to the millions suffering. This is a global issue that everyone should be aware of. An estimated 80% of the refugees are women and children and that’s what makes my heart torn into pieces. They often carry the heaviest burden of survival for themselves and their families. Women and adolescent girls in refugee settings are especially vulnerable to exploitation, rape, abuse and other forms of gender-based violence.

Children and youth deliberate to be the target of abuse, and easy prey to military recruitment and abduction. Usually, they miss out being on schools, having the opportunity to have good education for their future. Without proper education, they often struggle to support themselves and their families. I am a woman and I have a heart for children so I’m focusing my advocacy for the needs of these women and poor little ones.

We should be very thankful that we have our homes and our families. I believe that modern technology would be a great help to spread the information, understanding and action for this people. As a blogger, we are using one of these modern technologies so we have the best access to share our thoughts and be part of the global solution to this global problem. Let’s unite and make a difference. See this beautiful smiles again.

Sleeping on Tree Bed

This is not the kind of bed I like for myself. Not even thinking to see it in my own bedroom and lie down here for the rest of the night. But I admit that I like the concept and it makes me happy to see things like this inspired by nature. Don’t under estimate this bed because it costs $15,000 (ooh…that’s kinda expensive). Maybe having a bed like this would make your bedroom unique from the rest. If you are really a nature lover and you appreciate this one, you might want to grab one for yourself. Loaded Scrambled Eggs

A healthy breakfast makes a good start for the day. I would like to share to you a simple recipe for breakfast that you could do at home. The ingredients are very simple and variable so don’t hesitate to make some substitutions. Feel free to do some magic on your foods. I hope you’ll enjoy this one. I got this from RecipeZaar. This recipe makes 6 to 8 servings.

Ingredients

12 eggs
1/4 cup milk (optional)
1-2 teaspoon butter
1 medium sweet onion
1/4-1/2 lb bacon or sausage or ham, cooked and crumbled
1/2 lb cooked chopped broccoli or spinach
4-8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese or sharp cheddar cheese or monterey jack cheese (whatever cheese you like)

Directions

1.Break eggs into a bowl. Add milk and beat well with a fork.
2.Melt butter in large skillet (I prefer a cast iron chicken fryer).
3.Cut onion in half lengthwise then slice the halves lengthwise into slivers. The slices hold their shape and texture better this way than when sliced crosswise. Saute in melted butter until nearly cooked and slightly browned.
4.Add the meat and vegetables to the pan and saute briefly with the onions until thoroughly hot.
5.Pour the eggs over the meat and vegetable mix. Cook on low-medium heat until about half done.
6.Spread half the cheese over the eggs them scramble them around.
7.Cook until nearly done. Add the rest of the cheese and scramble around again.
8.Complete the cooking, scrambling again if necessary.
9.Serve with your favorite bread, with homemade biscuits, with hash browns, or load into rolls or wraps.

Show Off Your Christmas Projects!

Yesterday, I posted pictures of my Christmas project and share you a story how I thought of it. Since I started it, why don't you also show your Christmas project on your own blogs? If you don't have any blog, you can email me the pictures of your Christmas project and be sure to include a description. I'll feature your project here to show everyone your creation. You can post a comment here to tell us where to track your article about your Christmas project. I’m looking forward to see your own work of art for Christmas. By the way, here’s my email: homeytreats@ymail.com.

Work of Art for Christmas

Christmas is coming so I decided to do some Christmas decoration for our home. I told my mom not to buy a Christmas tree anymore. We have a small space at home so a Christmas tree would not fit anywhere. Last year, we had a Christmas tree at the living room but it makes our home more crowded and it’s always on the way…so messy to look at. So I took out all the decorations we hang on our last year Christmas tree. There were lots of ornaments and Christmas balls in red, blue, silver and gold. I decided to use them again to decorate our house. I pulled out a nylon string and attached the balls together then put an ornament to give accent to the bunch of balls. After doing some finishing touch, the work of art for Christmas is done. I hang the balls in every corner of our home and I’m really glad that it looks nice. I’m planning to do more of this in different colors. Maybe you should also try doing this on your old Christmas decors. Why buy a new one if you could still use the old one? Just do some retouch. I’m sure they’ll be beautiful like the new ones. It would be more fun to do this with your Family.
